Karen originally hails from the cold north of Minnesota, but has been a grateful Eugene resident since moving to attend law school at the University of Oregon. She graduated in 2015 and then spent a year clerking for the Honorable Curtis Conover at the Lane County Circuit Court. She joined Luvaas Cobb as a litigation associate in 2016. From 2021 to 2024 she worked for BOLI as a senior Civil Rights Investigator, during which she managed workplace and public accommodation investigations, prepared trainings, and revised BOLI-administered rules and policies. She happily returned to Luvaas Cobb in 2024.
Karen’s primary practice areas are employment law, business matters, and litigation. She also provides workplace trainings and conducts workplace investigations.
Karen is a former board member and president of the Mount Pisgah Arboretum and is an active volunteer with Egan Warming Shelter. She and her husband Phillip spend most of their time not at work chasing after their two children and their dog, ideally on a hike but frequently at a playground.
