Hannah P. Dougherty
Law Clerk
Hannah's former career in journalism taught her that each person's unique background and life experience deserves to be understood and respected. She aims to integrate this lesson into her future career as a lawyer.
Hannah has deep ties to the Pacific Northwest, having lived in many cities across Washington and Oregon—including Gig Harbor, Seattle, Portland, Astoria, Bend, and now, Eugene.
Hannah received her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication at the University of Portland. She honed her communication skills at UP while serving as Editor in Chief for The Beacon, the university’s primary news outlet. After undergrad, her passion for writing and her community led her first to an internship at the Portland Business Journal, then to Bend, where she worked as an on-camera news reporter for Central Oregon Daily News.
Driven by a desire to help solve the legal issues she reported on, Hannah left journalism to attend law school at the University of Oregon School of Law. At UO, Hannah was a first-year business law fellow and a tutor for the law school’s distinguished legal research and writing program. She also served as a law clerk for the Oregon Department of Justice’s General Counsel Division, Health and Human Services section, where she worked on family, disability, and Medicaid-related issues. Hannah’s Juris Doctor is expected May of 2024.
As a law clerk for the firm, Hannah combines her unique background as a journalist with her legal education to provide strong research and writing skills, as well as an impeccable attention to detail while assisting our lawyers with a variety of projects.
Between work and school, Hannah finds time to do all things outdoors – ski, hike, run, mountain bike, and rock climb – as well as spend time with friends, family, and her fiancé Brian.
